Great Hibiscus Tattoo Designs and templates

The hibiscus tattoo is a popular choice and rightly so. This family of flowers is symbolic throughout the world and beautiful to look at. In this article, I’ll tell you about 5 different types of hibiscus tattoo designs and tell you the meaning of this tattoo.

Hibiscus Tattoo Meaning

This flower can be found throughout the world. It is a revered plant in many areas due to its well known health properties. This flower is also associated with love in many cultures. Many people speak of the hibiscus as an example of delicate beauty, remembering that its lifespan is very short too.

Pink Hibiscus Tattoo

Although there are over 200 species of this tattoo in varying colours, by far the most popular that is tattooed is the pink flower. This is chosen mainly for its feminine characteristics. This colour also contrasts well with the deep green leaves of this plant.

Tribal Hibiscus Tattoo

This is not as common but looks good in its own right. Some tribal hibiscus tattoos are in the Maori style and feature thick sections of black ink separated by channels of no ink. For example, some symmetrical lower back tattoos are tribal and most people would not realise that they feature the hibiscus flower.

Another variation is to have a combination of tribal and non-tribal. For example, you can have a tattoo that runs from your lower back all the way to your neck where the stalks and shoots are tribal but the flowers are pink and heavily detailed.

Hibiscus Tattoo On Foot

There are a few ways to get this tattoo done. One is to have just a flower on the topside of the foot. Another is to get a very small and simple black ink line drawing style tattoo done, perhaps next to one of the toes.

One of the best looks I have seen is to get something that goes on the top of the foot but curves around at the end. This makes the hibiscus look like a vine or climbing plant that has wrapped itself ornately around your foot.

Hibiscus Tattoo On Wrist

The basic design is a flower with perhaps a couple of leaves that is inked onto your inner wrists. Some people get identical flowers on each wrist. Or you could choose a different but complimentary colour e.g. pink and orange.

Hibiscus Flower Tattoo On Side Or On Ribs

This is one of the sexiest tattoos that a woman can get and there are a couple of ways to do it.

One is to have the tattoo travel from the lower part of your side to the center (or near the center) of your belt line, possibly even below.

Another is to have your entire side covered in the hibiscus to make it look like it has climbed the body. This suits women especially because plants grow irregularly and in slight curves which compliment a woman’s natural back and side curvature well.
